The chorus

In the class of Writing, we watched the movie "The chorus" that is a drama film directed by Christophe Barratier. The story is based on the origins of the boy choir The Little Singers of Paris who were the main interpret in A Cage of Nightingales. Afterwards, in groups we had to record ourselves answering some questions. I did it with Victoria Patinio and Constanza Martinez Cerana, here is our work:

The use of cars

On the cities, the majority of the people use cars, however this is a problem. The facts has many facts that damage the world, for instance the car releases smoke that pollute the atmosphere. The government should discourage the use of cars with education and investing.

On the one hand, people must know the disadvantages of the use of car. The government has to teach about the environmental problems. Every single means of transport realeses fumes to the atmosphere causing pollution and smog. Moreover, there are more consequences, it also cause health issues to people since they produce visual pollution. As there are too many cars, there are accidents and traffic jamps causing stress on people driving.

On the other hand, the government should improve the public transport, so people won't need their cars. The government should invest in special lanes for buses and increase the amount of public transport. However, what is more important is the quality of the transport. They have to be clean, cheap and comfortable so in this way people want to use them.

To sum up, if the government educates people and invests in public transport, the city will be clean, the pollution will be reduced and will be less health problems for people. With all these facts, who gives a better city for the people.

About me

In the Writing's class we wrote an essay about each of us. Here is my essay:

My name is Maite Abelleira Arocha, I'm 16 years old and I'm an adolescent girl. I was born and lived all my life with my family in Adrogue. My father's name is Javier and my mother's name

is Debora, both are medics. I only have an older sister called Lara who is studying medicine in Favaloro.

Talking about my physical appearance I'm not tall, I have braces for teeth and earrings. My nose is little and my lips too.

If I have to talk about my personality I believe I have to say I'm kind, I'm a very jolly person, I'm not expressive and what I most represent is competitiveness. If I play a game, I play the game to win, I do not play the game to have fun.

I don't have any interests at all. In my free time, I see series, like Vikings or Prison Break. I swin in the pool or I bother my sister when she os studying.

To conclude, I'm not an interesting person. However, due to my personality I have a lot of friends who are one of the most important things in life, friends are everything.

In the class of L/L writing we learnt how to write a literary essay and after doing some activities we wrote one based on the theory we had about "The strange case of Dr.Jekyll and Mr.Hyde" by Robert Louis Stevenson.

The story "The strange case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" by Robert Louis Stev
enson, talks about the life of Henry Jekyll, a scientist, who believes that human has a double personality and to prove his point of view he creates a potion to separate them. As a result he turns into his evil side, Mr. Hyde, who takes him to his death. This essay will explain what Jekyll's house and laboratory and Hyde's physical appearance symbolises.

In the book, Jekyll's house and laboratory are related with Jekyll and Hyde. Jekyll's house, which is well-appointed and it says it has "a great air of wealth and comfort", represents Jekyll because Jekyll is neat and his house is perfectly tidy. His laboratory, described as "a certain sinister block of building", represents Jekylls bad side, Hyde, because Hyde as the laboratory is ugly, disrupted, and unclean, and there is a connection between both buildings that symbolises the connection Jekyll and Hyde have as they are the same person.

Hyde's physical appearance, ugly, deformed, small, shrunken and hairy represents something. "I never saw a man I so disliked [...] He gives a strong feeling of deformity" said utterson, his ugliness and deformity symbolises his lack of moral and ethics, his small stature represents that he, as Jekyll's bad side, has been repressed from growing for many years, and his hairiness symbolises his animal instinct and the fact that he is immoral, he commits crimes because he enjoys it.

As a conclusion,jekyll's house symbolizes Jekyll and his laboratory simbolized hyde, the connection between the house and the laboratory symbolizes the connection Jekyll and Hyde have, and Hyde's physical appearance symbolizes different things about his personality, we think this book tought us we do not have to try to be what we are not and that things are not always what we think they are, things are not always going to happen as we think, things can go wrong or change.

The strange murder

'Hello, i need an ambulance in Picadilly Circus right now!', My grandfather shouted.

I don't know how this happened. It was summer at 11pm at London streets, I was running to my grandmother's house because my parents live there, I didn't live there because I am 25 years old and I live in an apartment alone. My mother was having a new baby, my sister Carol. I was running so fast until i saw a yellow light and then... I didn't know, i didn't remember.

Ten years later i woke up, i was in a crambed hospital.

'Hey!! He woke up, mother he woke up!' A little girl shouted.

'Oh my god!! Hello Jessie, we are your family, do you remember?', My mother asked me.

'I remember you, but where is my father and who if the little girl?', I whispered.

'I'm Carol, your little sister, don't you remember?' Said Carol.

'Your father is next to you Jessie', my mother told me.

I got up without saying anything, i had to uso crutches but i could get to the stretcher where my father was. I watch him for a long time, he didn't open the eyes, i pushed him but he didn't react. Certaintly i didn't have enough strength. I started crying, I thought he was dead but my pretty sister told me that he was sleeping and in some hours he had to woke up. I felt confused, baffled and disorganized. I saw my hand and it was dirty but i looked myself in the mirror and i was totally filthy.

'If you want, i can tell you everything that happened', my mother murmured.

'Please', I agreed.

'It was a dull and dim night. I was having your charming sister Carol', my mother stammered.

'Yes, I remember that', I added.

'You were coming to your grandmother's house to see your little sister but in one moment the phone rang. After a long time your father answered the phone and started crying. He threw the phone and started saying "It was an old friend of secundary school, actually It was an enemy of secundary school, his mane was Thomas. During school I constantly won and he regularly lost and he began to cry, well, that's not the inportant part, he was telling me that he saw our son running in the street. He also told me that he would take revenge for everything that I had done when I was a child... He would crush him". He started running with your grandfather to save you. Your grandfather saw everything that happened, he told me that you were across the street and that there was a car going so fast to you. Your father ran so fast and pushed you, you fell in the streets and you hit your head on the floor. Your father saved your life, Thomas crashed him instead of crashing you. The your grandfather called the ambulance and thay took you to this hospital', she wailed.

I kept silent and I started to implore to God asking him to save my father's life. And that was the last time my father ever saw us.

Second year students from Newlands school in Adrogue have presented excellent ideas for events at school during the “workshop” and they shared them with the whole school at the auditorium at 9 am last Friday.

The first thing they had to do so as to be able to present the ideas, was to show them to Mariana Gavilan and Silvia Retaroli, headmistress of secondary school. After having shown them the ideas, they were excited about them. Besides, they were happy that second year wanted to share them with all students at school.

Their first idea was to run a poster competition. Each student had to design a poster about the environment. The example they provided was to come to school by bike and not by car. Another option was to share car journeys so as to save gasoline. The final plan was to have a display, in the main hall together with all the objects you can recycle. For example, they could show how plastic bottles can be made into coats.

Fortunately, everyone was very enthusiastic about the workshop. The next thing second year students want to do is to advertise the events during the week by sending a letter to all teachers to share their students. “We are glad students are working hard on workshops” said Silvia and Mariana. They also said that they wanted other classes to join them and to be part of these great ideas

Monster Inc

Review.

Parents need to know that "Monster, Inc" is a catching film. The story takes place in Monstropolis. The directors are Peter Docter and David Silverman (co-director) and the writers are Peter Docter and Jill Culton.The story is about monsters who generate their city's power by scaring children. However, they are terribly afraid of being contaminated by children. One night one of the humans enters Monstropolis and top scarer Sulley finds his world disrupted.The movie is full of thrilling moments because the author has created an interesting plot. You want to continue watching it. It is not a boring film, on the contrary it is very funny!I thoroughly recommended Monster Inc. All the viewers will want to watch it again and again. If I were you, I would try to get the film right now.

Summary

A city of monsters woth no humans called Monstropolis centers around the city's power company, Monster Inc. The lovable, confident, furry blue monster named James Sullivan (Better now as Sulley) and his best friend, short, green cyclops monster Mike Wazowski, discove what happens when the real world interacts with theirs in the form of a 2 year old baby girl dubbed "Boo", who accidentally sneaks into the monster world with Sulley one night. Boo stays a few days with Suller and Mike but then fortunately they find her door and she goes back to her world again.

Diary entry the stange case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde

13 of July 1839

Today I had an interesting time, I can't believe this, but it was real, it was amazing. In the morning I discovered that people have double personality, so I made a potion to separate the bad personality from the good one. After a very long time of making the potion I finally decided to be brave and to drink it. So when I drank the potion, I started to feel shorter, fatter, confused, bad, weird, mean, aggresive, awful, terrible but I also felt good and wonderful but what I really felt was different. There was something that wasn't there and when I looked myself on a mirror, I was shorter, fat and also I had.... I don't know... I looked like a different person, It was Mr Hyde. I was horrible, extremely horrible but at the moment I felt something radiant, sensational, fabulous and fascinating. Besides, I decided to check if the potion was temporal or permanent so I drank it again and up to now it had happened. Now I'm very exhausted so I am going to bed and dream about this. Good night.

 15 of July 1839.

Today was a terrifying day. I was like wallowing in trash, I felt horrible like a monster. In the evening I was walking in the street when I looked at my wrist to see what time it was, but when I looked at my hand it had a lot of hair, my fingers were very large, my nails were disgusting, they were all dirty and short as if I have eaten them until there was nothing. I started to fel something in the stomatch abd when I touched my face I thought it wasn't my face, it was the face of a monster. I felt good because I descovered that the potion worked again , but then I recognised that a little girl discovered me when I transformed so I started to follow her and when I finally caught her I hurt her. Then I nedeed to sign a check but I didn't realize and I signed as Dr. Jekyll so now I need to buy a place for Mr. Hyde, a place to live and a bank account. Now I feel awful with the things I do and very exhausted because to have a double personality isn't an easy job... Goodbye

A wonderful City

  The city of London, the capital of United Kingdom is the favourite place of the turists to go. London is the largest city in Europe and located astride the famous river Thames. This is the home for most international organazations. London has a lot of years, the Londoners keep all the old things. London, which is in the UK, is next to the north pole, because of that, the weather regularly is very cold.

  I love the streets of London, the street are always clean and it is written in the street where you have to see, to the left side, to the right side or to both sides. For me London is an ideal and perfect city. London has a lot of years and because of that London is perfect.

  The bad point for me is the weather, it is always cold and I hate it so much, I love the summer. When I went to London it was spring and it was very cold but there were people with shorts and with short t-shirt.

  In London, you can see a lot of things like the British Museum where there are a lot of weapons and it is the Rosetta Stone, the National Gallery where there are a lot of paintings, the Big Ben, is beautiful, the Tower of London that is very big and you can go to the Greenwhich Meridian, that is a line that from there we know the hours and it is Latitude 0.
  According as a conclusion, London is a lovely and interesting city. I choose this city because it is my favourite historical city.

Everybody interrupted saying that they knew that they had been created by Ra and Esquivalon so they honoured them, but they didn't know who Ra and Esquivalon were.

Then all the people knew who Ra and Esquivalon were.  They honored them and they thanked them.

One day Esquivalon was sick, all the people was desperate, worried and sad because it was the first time that this problem happened and everybody knew what happened and what they had to do.

Esquivalon was the God of the water, he was very sick and because of that  water disappeared. they didn't have water in any place, not even a drop.

Chimpanzees

Moral:”You must not hit a child, they don't deserve it. "Part 1It was a horrible day with a lot of clouds and it was raining. There were no birds in the sky. There were not trees and all the plants were wet as if someone had thrown a bucket with water on them. Albert was good, terrible and an impatient chimpanzee and he get married with a beautiful, lovely and poor chimpanzee that was called Pepita and then they have three children, Lula that was a very good chimpanzee because she helped a lot of people and she was very a good at school, Bender was messy and a very bad on school, Robert was an intelligent but lazy chimpanzee .One day when the children grow up he was dismissed from his job and they got poor because he got angry, he started hitting his poor and innocent Children. The Children were surprised because the father have never hit them with that anger.

Formal Letter

Dear Sir,
     Hello, how are you? I am writing this letter because we have to do a sketch for this Wednesday. We can do the city of "Paris" because we can do the Eiffel Tower, the Church of Notredame and we can do a lots of mimes.
     In the Eiffel Tower we can take a lot of people to look at the city of "Paris". Then we can do lots of nuns in the Church of Notredame and in the pavement we can put the mimes. In the street we can put a lot of cars with different colors.
    If you have more ideas please tell me. I only have these ideas. If you don´t like these ideas tell me because we have to do something that both like it.

                        You remember me? I`m Hyde. I went to the school with you and we were friends but today NO! I hate you! I want to see you because Voldemort told me that i have to kill you and if i don`t kill you, he will kill me.
